About Alabama Arrests

Alabama Arrests is a public-records site that collects Alabama county jail booking information into one searchable place.

What we do

Every day, Alabama counties publish jail roster information that is already public: who was booked, when, on what charges, and what bond was set. Finding that information still means visiting a different website for almost every county, and many of those sites go offline, change URLs, or bury the roster behind a form. We pull those records together, keep them searchable, and keep a historical copy so a booking that has already left the live roster is still findable.

What we are not

  • We are not a law-enforcement agency, a court, or a sheriff's office.
  • We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Do not use this site to make employment, housing, credit, insurance, or tenant-screening decisions.
  • Nothing on this site is legal advice. Procedures vary by county and change over time.
  • An arrest is not a conviction. A person named in a booking record is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.

Where the data comes from

Booking records are collected from the public jail and inmate-roster systems operated by Alabama county sheriffs and related facilities. Coverage and update frequency vary by county — some counties publish continuously, others only a few times a day, and a few still do not publish a usable public roster at all. A full explanation of what we collect, how often we refresh it, and what we deliberately leave out is on our Data & sources page.

Who runs this

Alabama Arrests is operated by a small editorial team based in Alabama. We are not affiliated with any sheriff's office, court, or state agency. Corrections, questions, and press inquiries go to admin@alarrests.com.

Corrections and takedown requests

If a record about you or someone you represent is wrong, outdated, or should be removed under Alabama or federal law, use the takedown request form. We review every request. Records that remain public at the originating agency generally stay online; records that have been sealed, expunged, or withdrawn by the agency are removed.
